The seed cake which exits the mechanical screw presses has a residual oil content of 6 to 7% and a moisture content of about 8%. It is very valuable as an organic fertilizer. Typical seed cake nitrogen-phosphorous-potassium (N-P-K) content analysis ranges from about 4-1-1 to 6-2-2 or higher.
Seed cake exits the screw presses as dense chunks which are fed through a hammer mill for pulverization into smaller particles. The seed hulls which were removed earlier at the start of the whole processing operation are also relatively high in nutrient content, particularly phosphorus, and these are added into the seed cake meal. This mixed material is pelletized and bagged, ready for use as an organic fertilizer.
A small quantity of our produced seed cake is used as fertilizer on our plantations but most of it is sold to domestic and international markets.
